Mikel Arteta is a big fan of the 25-year-old’s versatility as he can play as a left-back or a central midfielder.
And Zinchenko is now set to reunite with Arteta at the Emirates after working with the Spaniard at the Etihad.
Zinchenko will be the second player to trade City for Arsenal this summer after striker Gabriel Jesus left for £45million.
Commenting on the transfer, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano revealed that only the personal terms need to be finalised.

He tweeted“Arsenal and Manchester City have now reached a verbal agreement in principle for Oleksandr Zinchenko on a fee of around £30m.
“Personal conditions are still being discussed.
“Salary and length of contract, under negotiation – key step to close the deal.”
Zinchenko was linked with a move to north London in May, before Arsenal turned to versatile Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez.

But they turned to the player after Martinez agreed to follow Erik ten Hag to Manchester United.
It is believed that City will now move forward with a decision to sign Spanish star Marc Cucurella from Brighton.
SunSport understands the Seagulls would demand around £50m to sell the 23-year-old.
The Amex Stadium side are in no rush to sell Cucurella, who still has four years left on his contract.
He only arrived from Getafe last year but showed his class in his 35 Premier League outings in his debut season.
