Aymeric Laporte learns of his X-rated nickname from Manchester City fans, responds immediately

Manchester city Defender Aymeric Laporte learned his X-rated nickname from fans on Twitter and his response went viral.

Laporte is one of City’s star defenders and, alongside Ruben Dias, has helped Pep Guardiola’s side reach the top of the Premier League.

He started in Sunday’s 4-0 win over Newcastle United and took to Twitter to thank the fans for their support.

A fan responded to Laporte saying that “Lapornhub” had a solid game. We don’t need to explain the reference, do we?

The Spain international, who likes to use social media, almost immediately hit back with: “Excuse me?” and a series of laughing emojis.

Safe to say being called ‘Lapornhub’ is actually a normal day at the office.

Last season, Laporte lost his place to John Stones next to Dias as City claimed the title.

The 27-year-old has appeared in the campaign 14 times so far compared to just 16 last season, with City locked in a top battle with Chelsea and Liverpool.

The victory over Newcastle came with a changed XI for City.

Guardiola suggested the England duo were left out due to their behavior off the pitch.

He told BBC Radio Five Live: “No rotation, no.

“I chose this team because they deserved to play today, these guys and not the others.

“At Christmas I pay a lot of attention to the behavior on and off the pitch. And when off the field is not appropriate, they are not going to play.

“So we have to be focused all the time because of the distractions around Christmas time and everything that is going on – you have to always be focused.”

City’s victory was their 34th in the top flight this calendar year, breaking a league record.

They are currently three points clear after Chelsea’s stalemate with Wolves and Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham.
