Ex-Manchester City target leaves FOUR comments under Ruben Dias’ latest Instagram post

It feels like yesterday Manchester City have been crowned Premier League champions for the sixth time, but pre-season is already fast approaching.

With various UEFA Nations League commitments, many players have had a limited but timely summer break after such a demanding season.

It shouldn’t get any easier over the next 12 months, with the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar wedged between the Premier League schedule.

The depth of the squad will be tested to the absolute maximum over the course of the season and Manchester City‘s transfer activity seems to suggest they are preparing for that possibility.

Having already captured the signings of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez this summer, Kalvin Phillips completed his Sky Blue medical yesterday and is expected to be announced in the coming days.

In fact, the club recently revealed a fan event at the Etihad Stadium on July 10, where supporters will be able to see Haaland, Alvarez and Ortega for the first time.

Of course, Phillips is expected to complete the foursome once his transfer is confirmed.

The players are due to return from vacation on July 11 and begin their pre-season duties with training at City Football Academy, before flying to the United States.

Across the Atlantic, they will play two friendly matches against Club América and Bayern Munich.

As expected of any pre-season, players will likely take part in rigorous fitness testing to ensure they have returned from the break in good condition.

This means that during the off-season, some first-team stars have mixed laying on the beach with sitting on the football pitch.

More recently, Jack Grealish released a collection of images showing off his incredible physique as his season preparations step up a notch.

This time it was Ruben Dias’ turn to share his journey, with a video of him training with boxing gloves posted on his Instagram page.

The Portugal international has shown a phenomenal commitment to the club since joining from Benfica for £64million in 2020.

However, it wasn’t the video that caught the attention of City fans – it was the comments.

Bizarrely, Atletico Madrid star striker Joao Felix commented on the emoji while laughing – in varying amounts – FOUR times.

That, of course, got Blues fans excited and led to the call for him to finally be brought to the Etihad Stadium.

Felix has been linked with City on several occasions over the years but no move has ever materialized.
