Manchester City win again, Arsenal maintain streak of success

The traditional Boxing Day schedule in the Premier League has taken a hit this year with coronavirus forcing the cancellation of three games.

The first games scheduled for Sunday – Liverpool v Leeds United in Merseyside and Wolves v Watford in Molineux – have become the latest victims of the pandemic which has taken England’s busy traditional festive schedule to bear in recent weeks.

And Burnley’s home game with Everton also bit the dust with Rafa Benitez’s side decimated by Covid and injuries.

Still ahead, Manchester City v Leicester City at Etihad Stadium, Norwich City’s game with Arsenal at Carrow Road and Tottenham Hotspur v Crystal Palace.

West Ham United take on Southampton at London Stadium, Aston Villa take on Chelsea in the Midlands while Brighton v Brentford on the South Coast ends the day.

Newcastle United’s home clash with Manchester United is the only game on Monday, before we launch headfirst into the next round of midweek games – including Covid, of course.
