Manchester United fans show off their class with messages to Man City great Sergio Aguero

Manchester United fans have highlighted their class by sending messages to Sergio Aguero after the Manchester City big has announced his retirement.

Born in Argentina, the frontman arrived at the Etihad Stadium from Atletico Madrid for £ 36million in 2011 and scored a city record of 260 goals in 390 appearances.

Aguero won five Premier League titles, six League Cups and a lone FA Cup during his time at City. He also won the division’s golden shoe with 26 goals in the 2014/2015 season.

His last game before a summer transfer to Barcelona came in the 2021 Champions League final loss to Chelsea.

Aguero will no doubt be remembered for this iconic goal against QPR, an unpopular moment with United fans as it prevented their team from winning the title under the most dramatic circumstances.

Although the Argentine is never truly forgiven for it, United fans let the water pass under bridge to congratulate him on a brilliant career.

@ DaveGarghan9 said: “Sad news for Aguero. One of the best strikers of this era. I will never forgive him for that goal, but I appreciate superb talent. Health comes first and I’m glad he was caught before this not be much more serious. Enjoy the time with the family. ”

@ LittleLiam1993 posted: “To this day, Aguero’s famous goal haunts me. Very sad to see a world-class player retiring at such an early age. By far, must be one of the greatest, if not the greatest player foreigner the Premier League has ever seen. And that is from a United fan. ”

@MrJohnUTD said: “I would have loved Aguero at MUFC … What a player.”

@imAdarshdas posted: “Broke my heart with the Agueroooo moment, but what a player Aguero was! I always looked at him at City with a touch of jealousy. Really sad that we couldn’t see him play anymore, but it’s safe to say that Kun has left his mark on the beautiful game. ”
