Manchester United have been told they already have the solution to their lingering Premier League problems.
After finishing second to neighbors Manchester City last season, the Old Trafford side have signed Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo in a triple declaration of intent.
However, their title hopes were in tatters ahead of the November international break.
Still competing for silver in the FA Cup and Champions League, the top four remain a clear target for United now that Ralf Rangnick has taken over – initially until the end of this season.
Ronaldo has already scored 14 goals since completing his sensational Juventus comeback.
Recent games have also seen Sancho show glimpses of his form at Borussia Dortmund, while Varane has always been the choice when it comes to their summer affairs – according to the former Premier League goalkeeper turned expert Paul Robinson.
Speaking to Football Insider, he said: “Varane was their best signing last summer.
“He still has a lot to come from him. He’s a proven world-class defenseman.
“Defensively United have had a lot of problems. As soon as they come back to the squad and host a series of games, I’m sure there will be an improvement.

“Under Rangnick, they looked more solid defensively, overall.
“When Varane comes back in speed I think he will strengthen the backbone of the team. Varane is world class and his playing and pace is phenomenal.
“He’s missing too many games because of an injury.”
