Manchester United set to make bid for Spurs target Bastoni

Manchester United are set to make a bid for Alessandro Bastoni as they seek to beat Antonio Conte and Tottenham Hotspur to sign the Inter Milan star, according to a report by the Gazzetta dello Sport.

Bastoni could well be on his way to the Premier League this summer. The 23-year-old has established himself as one of the most talented young centre-backs around.

Reports claimed that Conte told Tottenham to sign Bastoni regardless of the price. And the Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Spurs are indeed watching him closely.

However, they also note that Manchester City have already requested information on Bastoni. And they could move this summer. Meanwhile, Manchester United are very much in contention.

Indeed, Erik ten Hag’s men are preparing an offer. They know the Nerazzurri won’t consider anything less than £51.2m (€60m) for Bastoni.

However, Tottenham clearly won’t let them run until he is signed. Gazzetta adds that Conte believes Bastoni is destined to become one of the best in the world in his position.

Manchester United ready to make an offer for Bastoni

Bastoni isn’t the only centre-back Manchester United and Tottenham have been fighting over. Reports on Tuesday claimed they had both made an offer of around £43m for Pau Torres.

Torres would rather go to Old Trafford. It therefore seems imperative that Tottenham win the race for Bastoni.

Granted, Bastoni moving elsewhere would devastate Conte.

Tottenham will not want to disappoint their manager. They are going in the right direction. But keeping the Italian seems absolutely crucial.

Bastoni labeled Conte’phenomenal‘ while together at Inter. So you imagine he would like to join Tottenham.

It is therefore incumbent on Spurs to act quickly before joining another Premier League side.
