Manchester United face Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Monday night as they try to collect all three points on their trip. The Red Devils managed to beat Norwich City by a narrow 1-0 scoreline in their last league outing, so they’ll be eager for another Premier League win and climb the rankings.
Ralf Rangnick will opt for a 4-2-2-2 formation and could name Raphael Varane in his starting XI if the French center-back passes a late fitness test.

Defense
David de Gea will feature in the Red Devils goal after keeping his clean sheet against the Canaries earlier this month. As mentioned before, Varane is expected to start if he can return to full form before this game. The former Real Madrid talent will operate alongside Harry Maguire in the heart of Rangnick’s defense as they look to win a clean sheet during the 90 minutes.
Diogo Dalot will start at right-back while Alex Telles is hoping to grab attention from the other side as a left-back. Both will be allowed to go ahead and speak in Newcastle’s half to create opportunities for their team-mates at the top.
Victor Lindelof should be able to start off the bench as he provides cover for the center-half positions.

Midfielder
Fred and Scott McTominay will once again be the anchor midfielder for the Red Devils as they attempt to establish their superiority over opposition in the center of the park.
Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho will play right in front of them as Man United’s fluid attacking midfielders. They will both carry most of Man United’s creative workload in the final third.
Mason Greenwood, Donny van de Beek and Jesse Lingard will have to settle for a place on the bench while waiting for their chance to shine within 45 seconds if necessary.
Attack
Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcus Rashford will lead the line for the Mancunian giants in the offensive end of the field. Rangnick will ask them both to cause all kinds of trouble for Newcastle defenders on Monday night.
