Spain’s Real Madrid have reportedly sent a speculator to Manchester City – to see if the English club will pay £150m for Christiano Ronaldo.
Madrid are well aware of the fact that City are the only club in the world that can afford the world record.
The Eastlands club deny they even thought of making a move for the former United superstar, but The sun claims that the two Spanish clubs are in talks.
Ronaldo was a hero to the Old Trafford faithful in his United days and a move to cross-rivals City would have them in high praise. Indeed, when Wayne Rooney flirted with the idea late last year, he received death threats from hardcore United.
Along with the huge transfer fee, Ronaldo is reportedly asking for £300,000 in wages and a five-year contract which would bring the total cost to £228m.
The Portuguese supremo left United saying Spanish football was in its place. He left with Sir Alex Ferguson’s blessing as he was going abroad rather than to an English club.
But apparently Ronaldo, 26, has fallen out with real boss Jose ‘The Special One’ Mourinho and the Spaniards’ board are ready to listen to offers for their prize money asset.
